With·Out·Walls believes that God’s church (His spiritual family) is different than man’s church (check out What Constitutes A Real Church video (about 4 mins.)).
In an effort to live out the purposes of the Lord’s church which we read about in His Word we endeavor to break down religious walls and practices built up over centuries within today’s post-biblical church corporations.
As such we have…
NO Offerings, Tithes or other church collections
NO Pastors, Reverends or other honorific titles
NO Sermons, Preaching or other lecture-styled messages
With·Out·Walls
- NO ritualism, formalism, legalism and other ‘isms’
- NO pre-programmed or orchestrated services
- NO didactic or passive methods of growing and learning
- NO Catholic nor Protestant church ascription
- NO rules and regulations restricting Christian liberties
- NO traditions of men that counter those of God
- NO corporate church structures and practices
- NO exclusions against Believers not of one’s own group
- NO divisions perpetuated by matters of opinion
- NO hierarchical clergy ruling over Believers
- NO conditioning members to remain spiritual infants
- NO church names, buildings, salaries, etc
- NO human mandates, doctrines or creeds
Simply church not Churchianity
Many Churches of our day have evolved into 501(c)(3) corporations with CEO-stylized religious leaders who have transformed them into personal houses of merchandise .
Members, as a whole, have been stripped of their God-given rites of priesthood to carry out their individual spiritual responsibilities in church gatherings and have instead become primarily relegated to spectators of a show event (check out Are Today’s Churches Really Churches? video (about 2 mins.)).
With·Out·Walls espouses the organic gatherings of Christ’s church and eschews the systematized church services of corporate institutions.
- grandstanding for performances and entertainment
- profiteering machinery for greedy religious leaders
- ritualistic, formal and pre-programmed services
- traditions that oppose or override Christian liberties
- arbitrary rules and regulations of religious corporations
- institutionalized religious structures and practices
- exclusionary towards Believers not of one’s group
- organizations divided by disputable matters of opinion
- hierarchical elevations of religious leaders over Members
- babysitting for Members to remain spiritual ‘infants’
